Our design philosophy is to make timeless garments which are of the highest quality and made to last. We want to celebrate the creative power of human beings without sacrificing our planet.
To us it is crucial that the pieces we create are inclusive: we want women from all ages to feel empowered when wearing arkitaip.
For us, the fair treatment of the people who help us turn our dream into reality goes without saying.
To ensure fair wages and working hours, as well as safe working conditions, we chose to collaborate with a small sewing studio in the North of Portugal to produce our wovens-range.
Owned by a mother and her daughter, they equally believe in a fair, ethically- and environmentally responsible way of producing.
We regularly visit the factory to not only ensure that everyone is treated fairly, but to also foster the amazing relationship we have with them. Having our production in Portugal also allows us to keep our carbon footprint small due to shorter transposition routes.
Sewn together by five seamstresses, each wovens-garment is produced in limited quantities and made of 100% European linen. Our crochet-line is handmade by Michi, co-founder of arkitaip. Each piece is made-to-order according to your measurements.
