For April’s Earth Day-Edition of our 'Muse of the Month'-series, we sat down with Amelia Windsor, model, regular contributing editor to Tatler, brand ambassador of @crossrivergorilla and the @bluemarinefoundation to talk about her work, sustainability and what drives her to live an eco-conscious life.
What does sustainability mean to you?
It is a very broad concept that I am learning more about every day - I feel like we all are. To me, it means to be aware and responsibly minded with your actions as you go about your day - whether that's eating seasonally or checking what your clothes are made of and if the people who made them were fairly treated.
You’re an ambassador of various NGOs that have animal welfare and our planet at heart - can you tell us a bit more about that?
I feel very honoured to have worked with some amazing charities like Blue Marine Foundation and Cross River Gorilla Project. I have learnt a lot from their work and am very happy to have had the chance to raise money with collections I have collaborated on.
What drives you to live an eco-conscious life?
For the love of this planet! Love and gratitude to be living on it.
What does a normal day in your life look like?
I get up really early and try and not look at my phone for the first hour, drink herbal tea, do some breathing exercises or read a bit of my book. Recently I have been doing some drawing and collaging in the morning to exercise my mind.
Do you have any life hacks for getting through the day in the most sustainable way possible?
Walk as much as you can, remember your coffee cup, always have a tote bag on you for shopping - these are pretty obvious though.
"To me, it means to be aware and responsibly minded with your actions as you go about your day."
