This month, we sat down with the lovely Rachael Keegan, the creator behind @bubblyaquarius. We recently had lunch together in London and we chatted about fashion, sustainability, and of course, Blake, Rachael’s new-born son.
Hi Rachael, how are you?
We're so excited to chat with you today!
Could you give us a little intro to your universe?
Hey!
It's great to chat with you :)
I'm a content creator based in London, curating and sharing everything I'm interested in and I've been doing this for almost 10 years now! What started out as a hobby of sharing my outfits online has since become my full time job and I absolutely love it.
I now share lifestyle and travel alongside fashion, and have been incredibly lucky to have worked with some amazing brands over the years, as well as met some of the loveliest people too! I also recently gave birth to my son Blake and it's been the most amazing journey so far!
What does clothing and getting dressed mean to you?
I have always been into clothes and styling, and love putting outfits together. I get dressed according to my mood that day and how I want to feel - it really affects my mood if I'm not happy in my outfit.
Define your style in three words.
Considered, effortless, classic.
You’ve recently become a mum - how has your style changed?
I have! He's almost 7 months now which is crazy but other than having to consider whether I can breastfeed in something, I don't think my style has changed that much.
Maybe just opting for slightly more practical/ comfy pieces now!
What’s your go-to timeless outfit?
Classic jeans, white tee and an oversized linen shirt.
What does sustainability mean to you?
How important is it in your everyday life?
Sustainability has become more and more important to me as I've gotten older, in every aspect of my life, and particularly I'm much more conscious of my shopping habits now. I'm not one for fast fashion and much prefer to make classic investment pieces that I know I will wear over and over again.
Do you have a motto in life?
This too shall pass.
What are you currently reading, watching, listening to?
Currently reading bedtime stories to Blake, watching Bluey and listening to nursery rhymes haha but when I do get some adult time I'm listening to El Michels Affair and watching The Bear.
Where or what is your escape?
Being by the sea.
What’s your most treasured item in your wardrobe?
My Chanel 2.55 Mini that my mum got me for my 25th Birthday - I had been lusting after it for years and she took me to Paris where we got it in the original Chanel store on Rue Cambon. A core memory and something I will have forever!
Lastly, what are your three favourite arkitaip-pieces?
So hard to choose as I'm such a huge arkitaip fan but I think the Anna blouse and chocolate linen Bobby vest and Wabi trousers set are definitely up there!
