Alexandra Kirn shows us her favourite spots on la isla bonita.
Hi Ale, we're so excited to chat with you today! Can you give us a little intro to your universe?
My name is Ale and I am the founder of Kirn, a space where we curate an atmosphere to share the stories of interesting people and their unique works. Currently, I’m creating our next clandestine pop-up in the campo de Ibiza, starting on July 12th.
You live in Miami but Ibiza is your home at heart - what do you love most about it?
The constant contrast that exists here. Between electronic music and dense nature. The energy that the island gives you the minute you land. The Mediterranean Sea and its architecture, which for me is a constant source of inspiration.
What’s the best way to explore the island?
Rent a great 4x4 just pick a Cala and spending the day exploring around that beach, visiting all the different small towns in the north.
What's in your suitcase?
My son’s clothes! Luckily, I have my closet here so I rarely come with much to the island. The island has its own style that can’t always be replicated in other parts of the world so basically having an Ibiza closet of pieces that work here.
Where do you like waking up when in Ibiza?
My house in the North surrounded by the forest.
What’s your favourite place for a low-key lunch?
Cala XUCLAR.
And for a romantic dinner?
La Paloma.
Your go-to beach spot:
Aguas Blancas / Cala Nova with kids.
Any shops we absolutely can’t miss?
Ooofff so many… but I always love going to Belinda’s store and Papillon in our town of San Carlos - always find unique treasures. So many in Ibiza town, The Malama Studio, Parosh, great vintage stores in the old town.
The best place for self-care?
Depends on the time of year. Summer -The beach - I love going to do a mud scrub at Aguas Blancas. Then swimming in the sea to get it all off. Your skin is brand new after. I love also going to Breathwork sessions, doing inner work when I can. Winter months- Can Curreu spa is close to us and gorgeous.
And for dancing?
Well that answer has certainly evolved with age… I guess it used to be Circoloco at DC10 but now probably just more intimate house parties and home before 2 am!
A book to read while you’re there?
Currently reading - Dr. Joe Dispenza. Breaking the habit of being yourself.
Any hidden gems that you’d like to share with us?
Not sure it’s hidden. But one of our favorite plans as a family is going to Benirras beach at sunset - with the paddle boards and discovering the swimming caves.
Lastly, what are your favourite arkitaip-pieces?
I would say that these are my top three favourites! But it’s so hard to choose as I like everything. Especially versatile linen pieces, that make me feel good, comfortable and chic. The halter top with the pants is such a good outfit! And I’d wear the Anna Blouse and the Xavi Bandeau Top so much with denim shorts.
